There are a number of complex or challenging factors that come into play when developing a proposal with multiple partners who have agreed to be at the same table. This primarily includes the logistics of meetings and communication, assigning roles and responsibilities, and gathering content and sometimes sensitive data from partners. Additional considerations include guiding them through the types of decisions the partners will need to make around data-sharing, budget development, and project oversight. It is critical for a grant professional to understand how to navigate such factors in order to deliver an accurate, timely proposal upon which all parties agree.
This course builds upon our Federal Grants: Federal Find and Fit, and Managing Grant Meetings courses to address the practicalities of collaborative proposal development. Participants will increase their knowledge of:
- Identifying eligibility, roles, and responsibilities among lead applicants and partners;
- Planning and structuring proposal development meetings; and
- Communication strategies for working with multiple partners to gather necessary content and decisions.
Participants will also receive an introduction to critical proposal development discussion points, including:
- Central data collection and data-sharing;
- Subaward budgets and matching funds; and
- Project monitoring and oversight.
