For many organizations, the federal government is a mystery – grants are advertised, and grants are awarded without any understanding of how either happen. In this From Appropriations to Review webinar, the presenter will provide background information on how grant opportunities are created, including information on appropriations, distributions aligned with agency strategic plans, and solicitation announcements. The presenter will also help applicants better understand what information the federal agencies are studying after a proposal has been submitted (Clue: It isn’t just the proposal!).

What You’ll Learn:

  • Awareness of the federal appropriation process
  • Identification of federal agencies and how to find their strategic plans
  • Awareness of how and where fund opportunities are announced
  • Identification of the three components of the merit review process
  • Awareness of how federal agencies manage applicants with risk factors
