Many foundation grants allow you to provide your project budget in your own format, but not federal grant agencies. All federal agencies have their own form which must be used to convey the costs associated with the program, both the cost requested and any matching funds or in-kind funds which may also be part of the program budget. This session will discuss the most common budget categories required by almost of the federal agencies so agencies can begin discussing these categories early in their proposal development. In addition, this session will discuss the most effective ways to fill out these forms and the most common errors made with each type of form so you don’t have an error which prevents your application from being submitted at the last minute.

What you will learn:

  • The most common federal budget categories
  • How to fill out budget forms for the most commons federal departments
  • The most common errors made with each type of form
