Description:
Managing the Compliance Web is designed for grant managers, grant consultants, and grantee organization grant office personnel who need to navigate the layered compliance requirements that govern post-award grant administration. Participants will examine how federal, state, local, funder, and organizational requirements connect; how to identify the laws, regulations, guidance, award terms, and internal policies that apply to a specific grant; and how to recognize federal pass-through funding when funds are awarded through state, municipal, or other intermediary sources. The session will emphasize practical strategies for interpreting “all applicable laws and guidelines,” documenting compliance decisions, and applying the most restrictive compliant standard when requirements overlap or appear to conflict. Examples and discussion prompts will help participants translate the compliance framework into everyday grant management practices.
