This course focuses on what documentation belongs in the post-award grant file, how records should transition from proposal to implementation, and how auditors assess completeness. Participants will learn practical strategies for structuring files with retrieval and defensibility in mind.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish required post-award grant documentation from supplemental or optional materials.
- Explain how auditors evaluate grant file completeness and documentation sufficiency.
- Manage the transition of grant records from pre-award to post-award to ensure continuity and retention of key approvals.
- Design a grant file structure that supports retrieval, version control, and long-term access.
- Apply naming conventions and organizational logic that strengthen audit readiness and internal oversight.
